SEC approves reduction in buying and selling fees at ACRES

Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) , chaired a meeting of the Council on Tuesday, with the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, held at the Ruler’s Office.

 

In light of the significant growth in the real estate sector in the Emirate of Sharjah and the increasing interest from investors in buying and selling real estate units, SEC approved a reduction in the sale and purchase fees for transactions that will be executed at the ACRES Real Estate Exhibition 2025. The sale fee will be set at 0.5% for real estate developers, while the purchase fee for UAE citizens and GCC nationals will be 1%, and for other nationalities, it will be 2%.

 

SEC issued a decision regarding the enforcement procedures at the Rental Disputes Center, which included the establishment of an Enforcement Department to operate under the presidency and supervision of the Enforcement Judge at the Center’s headquarters. This department is responsible for monitoring the execution of judgments and enforcement decisions issued by the Enforcement Judge.

 

The decision also organized various legal provisions such as appeals against enforcement decisions, the appeal of enforcement decisions, enforcement, suspension of enforcement procedures, notifications, coercive measures, inventory, guardianship, public auction sales, outsourcing enforcement services, and execution and publication.

Additionally, SEC appointed Judge Dr. Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Federal Primary Court, as the judicial supervisor of the Rental Disputes Center in the Emirate of Sharjah.

 

The council also issued a decision regarding the regulation of collecting donations and endowment funds in the Emirate of Sharjah, the provisions of which apply to:

 

1- Government entities or charitable organisations established by a decree to collect or provide donations in the emirate, including in its free zones.

2- Endowment funds in the emirate, for the purpose of establishing new endowments or funding existing endowments to ensure their sustainability, development, or reconstruction.

 

The decision organized the collection of donations, which must be approved by the Department of Islamic Affairs, through legal provisions related to methods of collecting donations, prohibitions on such collections, conditions for granting donation collection permits, and the obligations of the entity authorized to collect donations.

 

Regarding endowment funds, the decision included provisions for requesting permits to collect or receive endowment funds, the conditions for applicants seeking to collect endowment funds, endowment banks, the obligations of authorised entities to collect endowment funds , and the prohibitions on collecting endowment funds. The decision also encompassed legal provisions related to final rulings, the suspension or closure of bank accounts, violations and administrative penalties, judicial enforcement, executive decisions, and their implementation and publication.

 

 

The council reviewed a plan for the qualification and employment of specialised Emirati personnel at Sharjah International Airport, coinciding with the airport’s expansion plan and the significant upgrade it is undergoing in response to the increasing growth in passenger and cargo.

 

The council emphasized the need to train the human resources at the airport with the best educational and training programs to develop their skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively and to showcase the civilized and prestigious image of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Sharjah.

 

 

SEC reviewed the amendments made by the Sharjah Consultative Council to the draft law organising the Sharjah Digital Department and directed that the draft law be submitted to  His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah for issuance.
