SEC approves 1st batch of beneficiaries of housing subsidy 2023

Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired on Tuesday the meeting of the Executive Council, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of SEC, and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of SEC.

 

The Council congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, deputies of rulers, the UAE people, and the Islamic nations, on the occasion of Ramadan.

 

The Council congratulated His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah on the wheat farm project “Saba Sanabel” success, a pioneering step towards food security and success for the United Arab Emirates and Sharjah.

 

The SEC approved the first batch of housing subsidy beneficiaries in 2023, which includes 502 beneficiaries with a total of 378AED million.

 

The payment included for those of loans and grants in all regions of Sharjah, and its distributed over new construction, completion, addition and maintenance, and ownership of government housing.

It also approved the list of those exempted from repaying housing loans, amounting to 41 beneficiaries, reaching 29AED million.

 

The SEC discussed the report on the legislative system and its impact on the emirate’s economy and its contribution to enhancing its competitiveness

Over the past years, legislation had multiple amendments to keep pace with Sharjah’s growth, enhance government performance, and provide better opportunities for investors.

 

The Council reviewed the Department Of Town Planning and Survey’s digital transformation report, including the past years’ efforts in digital transformation and benefiting from international practices to improve the customer experience.

 

The report included the initiatives launched by the department to develop many programmes, applications, systems, and internal platforms, including the launch of the electronic portal, the smart application, the WhatsApp assistant service, and the Metaverse platform.

It also reviewed the department’s digital transformation strategy for 2022-2024.
