Sheikh Khalid Bin Isam Bin Saqer Al Qassimi chairs the Civil Aviation Department, which establishes general policies, oversees civil aviation and organizes its affairs in the Emirate as per the civil aviation international laws and regulations. He also represents the Emirate before all international organizations and entities concerned with aviation affairs. Further, Sheikh Khalid Bin Isam Bin Saqer Al Qassimi is a board member at the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and a board member at Air Arabia.

Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi has many contributions in the Emirate civil aviation sector. These include: supervising the opening of Sharjah International Airport Runway, increasing the rate of Emiratization in the department, approving the Civil Aviation Department fees amendment and implementing new fees, boosting the Air Transport rights for the Emirate and approving the establishment of the Sharjah Center for Airport Science.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Isam Bin Saqer Al Qassimi holds a Higher Diploma and a B.A. in E-Commerce from the Higher Colleges of Technology, and an M.A. degree in International Business form the University of Wollongong.
