Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, met Monday morning, a delegation from the Federal Demographic Council.

 

During the meeting, which was held at the Ruler’s Office, Sheikh Salem learned about the most prominent roles of the Federal Demographic Council, which is an important link that works between various authorities and bodies to formulate a comprehensive approach to address issues related demographics and find appropriate solutions that achieve harmony between the requirements of sustainable development and population policy, in addition to strengthening the role of the citizen and preserving the national identity.

 

The meeting also touched on the efforts and initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in supporting the Emirati family and providing care for all segments of society, from children to the elderly.

 

The meeting included the role of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in developing policies and strategies for community development in the emirate, in cooperation with the competent governmental and non-governmental agencies, and providing accurate statistics on various situations for decision-makers, federal agencies, and government agencies.

 

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohamed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of The Department of Statistics and Community Development, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Chairman of the Local Committee on Population Structure in the Emirate of Sharjah, Asma Rashid Bin Taliah, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, and Ahmed Hamad Al Suwaidi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Sharjah Executive Council.

 

The delegation of the Federal Council of Demographics included Dr. Saeed Abdullah Abdul Wahed, Secretary-General of the Federal Demographic Council and Hamid Al Darei, Assistant Secretary-General for the Policies and Population Future Sector.
