Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, chaired the weekly meeting of the council held at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office Tuesday.

The meeting discussed a number of topics on the agenda, which included reviewing the progress of government business and development plans, and discussing future projects.

The council issued Resolution No. (11) of 2022 regarding the regulation of sea berths in the Emirate of Sharjah. The resolution stipulates that its provisions shall apply to the owners of marine means of transport that anchor in the emirate.

According to the decision, the berths follow the following bodies:

  1. 1. Public docks established in the marine waters of the Emirate are affiliated with the municipalities.
  2. 2. Docks established in the ports of the emirate are affiliated with the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority.
  3. 3. The investment docks associated with the Government of the Emirate follow the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club.

The resolution also organised the competencies and specialisations of berths- related bodies concerned with berths establishment, management and supervision.

The Council reviewed the two reports on the performance of the general budget and the outputs of activities for the third and fourth quarters of 2021. The two reports included the most prominent indicators about the performance of the budget according to the sectors of government management, infrastructure, and social and economic development.

The Council also reviewed the analysis of budget performance by comparing the actual expenditures and revenues of the approved budget of government and independent entities against the percentage of achievement of the targeted outputs.

The Council further reviewed the annual report of the work of the Higher Committee for Human Resources for the year 2021. The report included the achievements and work of the Committee throughout the year, which included the issuance of many decisions and circulars, discussion of legal cases, grievances and complaints, and conducting studies and research.
