SEC reviews Sharjah Sports City project in Central Region

Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired the SEC meeting held at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.

This came in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC).

The SEC discussed, within its agenda, a number of governmental topics related to monitoring the performance of governmental departments and bodies and reviewing the progress of work in various development projects in the cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The SEC reviewed the general plan for the Sharjah Sports City project located in the Central Region, which was approved by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to serve athletes in all cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah. The SEC also reviewed the design of the main stand that will be in the middle of the sports city.

The sports city will be distinguished by its unique location and multiple sports facilities, the implementation of which will take into account environmental aspects and achieving sustainability, enabling all athletes in the region to practice various sports, which will be reflected in the sports movement and its development at the level of the Emirate.

The SEC issued a decision to transfer Eng. Abdulrahman Abdullah Mohammed Al Naqbi, Director of Kalba Municipality to Khorfakkan Municipality and appoint him as its Director.

The SEC also issued a decision to promote Dr. Ahmed Saeed Khamis Al Mazrouei, Director of the Wadi Al Helo Office Department of Kalba Municipality, to the rank of Department Director under the Special Jobs System in the Sharjah Government and appoint him as Director of Kalba Municipality.

As part of the SEC’s interest in the Emirate’s economic development, the SEC reviewed a presentation on the economic situation in the Central Region, its growth indicators, and the provision of commercial activities that serve the region. The SEC adopted a number of recommendations that contribute to driving economic growth and achieving a positive impact on the region.

The SEC reviewed a presentation on the promotions system in Sharjah government departments and bodies, which is granted to employees who provide distinguished performance, contributing to the advancement of the entities to which they belong, and enhancing the development process in the Emirate.

The number of beneficiaries of promotions during the first half of this year reached 636 employees in various types of promotions. The promotions system constitutes an incentive for employees to achieve higher levels of productivity and institutional performance, appreciate their efforts, and enhance job loyalty.

The SEC reviewed a presentation on establishing an integrated platform to link data related to the human resources system in the Emirate of Sharjah, in coordination with all relevant parties, which will contribute to supporting decision-making, facilitating the provision of services, and monitoring performance.

The SEC approved a draft law on the organisation of the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), and directed that it be referred to the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) to complete its legislative session.
