SEC approves AED357 mln- 1st batch housing grants

Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Deputy Chairman of the Council, and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, chaired Tuesday morning, the meeting of the Council at the Ruler’s Office. During the meeting, the council approved the first batch of the 528 beneficiaries of housing support totalling AED357 million.

 

The meeting tackled several issues related to developing the government’s workflow and advancing the Emirate of Sharjah’s carious sectors.

 

In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at achieving social stability, enhancing family security and providing a decent life for the citizens of the Emirate of Sharjah, the Council approved the first batch of 528 beneficiaries of housing support, with a total amount of AED357 million.

 

The first batch includes the beneficiaries of the two categories of loans and grants for the purposes of new construction, completion, addition and maintenance, and obtaining ready-made government housing, and mini-residential units.

 

The value of housing support since 2012 has reached 7 billion and 469 million dirhams, for beneficiaries in all cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.

 

The council was briefed on the latest classifications of Sharjah International Airport in the international classifications according to approved standards and indicators, as Sharjah International Airport was ranked the best airport in the Middle East within the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme, which is sponsored by the Airports Council International (ACI).

 

The Council discussed a set of proposals to support and develop the activities of the travel and tourism sector by updating legislation and enhancing competitiveness in its economic environment.

 

The Council also deliberated a set of proposals concerned with supporting the transportation system and public transportation and providing various services in all cities and regions.
