His Excellency Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amir
H.E. Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer was appointed Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police pursuant to Amiri Decree No. (55) of 2024 issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. He also serves as a member of the Sharjah Executive Council.
Major General bin Amer is one of the UAE’s leading security figures, with over two decades of experience in maintaining public order, crime prevention, and managing correctional and rehabilitation institutions. He currently leads the implementation of the Sharjah Police Strategy 2024–2027, which focuses on key pillars including security, innovation, digital transformation, and institutional readiness.
Under his leadership, Sharjah Police achieved record safety indicators, with public sense of security reaching 99.7%, and public trust in police services rising to 97%. The force has also advanced significantly in digital service delivery, completing over 1.34 million transactions in 2024, with 84.4% of services accessed through smart channels. Average waiting time stood at just 33 seconds.
His Excellency chairs several high-level committees in the Emirate, including the Supreme Command Council of Sharjah Police, the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in Sharjah, the Supreme Committee for Police, Security in Sharjah, and Safety, and the Subcommittee on Population Composition in Sharjah. He also represents Sharjah Police in key local and international security and scientific forums.
Major General bin Amer has led several notable achievements both locally and internationally. These include reducing emergency response times to 3.39 minutes, deploying over 89,000 smart surveillance cameras across vital areas, and earning prestigious awards such as the Distinguished Financial Performance Award, the Ideas Arabia Award, and the Future Readiness Award in 2025. Internationally, Sharjah Police received the Adam Smith Award for Best Global Financial Risk Management and contributed scientific research to global conferences, including the International Forensic Science Conference in Japan.
He holds a diploma in Police Sciences from the Abu Dhabi Police College, which laid the foundation for his distinguished career. As Vice Chairman of the Board of Sharjah Police Science Academy, he has played a pivotal role in advancing academic programs and promoting postgraduate studies, ensuring a sustainable talent pipeline within the police force.
