Her Excellency Maryam Majid Saeed Mohamed Al Shamsi

HE Maryam Majid Saeed Al Shamsi serves as the Chairman of the Social Services Department, which she joined in 2007 by managing the department’s Hamriyah branch.

She rose through the ranks to become the Executive Director of the Branches Sector, then Director of the Department, and eventually its Head. Throughout her career, she has led many vital teams and committees, including chairing the Customer Experience Development Team, the Events Committee, the Social Assistance Allocation Committee, and the Risks and Business Continuity Committee. She also represented the department in key committees such as the Strategic Review Committee, the Beneficiaries’ Appeal Committee, and the Permanent Committee for Procurement and Tenders. HE has been actively involved in supporting Sharjah’s vision as an age-friendly city, serving as a member of the emirate’s risk management team within the crisis committee.

She is considered an influential leader in the department’s digital and electronic transformation journey, playing a pivotal role in developing systems and enhancing the efficiency of smart services. She also spearheaded the development of the department’s leadership program, directly supervising the qualification of the first and second tiers of leaders, thus ensuring the sustainability of leadership and the readiness of internal competencies.

On the community level, HE contributed to the establishment of the Sharjah Volunteer Work Center, launched numerous initiatives and quality assistance programs, improved the services provided in social care homes, and supported pioneering social responsibility initiatives such as “Eid Joy” for underprivileged children, “You Are Our Paradise” for the elderly, and “Barakat Al Dar” Endowment for senior citizens.

HE holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, in addition to several professional diplomas in leadership, customer service, management, and official spokesperson.
