His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri

Before assuming the position of Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority in 2014, His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri held the position of Director of the Sharjah International Book Fair. Prior to that, he served as Head of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information for more than ten years, which made him in constant interaction with the cultural activity.

Under his leadership, the Sharjah Book Authority manages and organizes the Sharjah International Book Fair, the world’s third largest book fair, the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, Sharjah Libraries, In addition to the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, the first city in the world dedicated exclusively to publishing and printing, among many other initiatives.

His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the prestigious Strayer University in Washington, D.C., USA, and an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sharjah.
